The school day finishes for children in the Pre-Prep at 3:15pm. Children in Forms KG to T2 are able to stay on after the end of the school day for ‘Byron House Waiters’, i.e. supervised care, from 3:15-4pm and separately from 4-5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
3:15-4:00pm
Byron House Waiters fromÌý3:15 – 4:00pmÌýtakes place in the children’s classrooms. We are usually able to accommodate all requests. If you have not heard from us please assume that your request has been recorded successfully. In the event that we are oversubscribed, we will inform you and in that case priority will first beÌýgiven to those children with older siblings being collected at 4.00pm, then to thoseÌýwho travel home with older 91fans’s pupils (for these places, to ease traffic congestion, priority will be given to those who live some distance from Cambridge and for groups of children who travel together). Members of the school staff supervise the children. There is no charge for this facility if yourÌýchild has an older sibling currently in Forms 1-6. There is a charge for this facility for all children who do not fall into this categoryÌý(please consult theÌýFees Schedule* for the current rate)Ìýand parents may book a place before the beginning of each term. Children in Byron House Waiters 3.15-4.00pm will also receive a snack.
4:00-5:30pm
Places in Byron House WaitersÌýfrom 4:00Ìý– 5:30pmÌýtakes place in Cockcroft Hall and places are limited to a maximum of 25Ìýper day. Members of the school staff supervise the children. There is a half-hourly charge for this facility for all children (please consult theÌýFees Schedule* for the current rate)Ìýand parents may book a place before the beginning of each term. Children in Byron House Waiters 4:00-5:30pm will receive a second snack.Ìý
It is possible to request a place in Byron HouseÌýWaiters on a casual basis if a place is available on the day. Please contact the Byron House Secretary (bhoffice@sjcs.co.uk or 01223 353817) by 10am on the day in questionÌýif you wish to do so and specify your planned collection time.
Please note that bookings from the previous term do not automatically carry over. ÌýIf your child has had a place in the previous term and you wish for them to continue to stay after school in the following term, please complete the online reply form. An invitation to do so will be sent to you via the Portal.
